Founded in 1958, SIGMA: America’s Leading Fuel Marketers has become a fixture in the fuel marketing industry. After more than 60 years of leadership, SIGMA is the national trade association representing the most successful, progressive, and innovative fuel marketers and chain retailers in the United States and Canada. From the outset, the association has served to further the interests of the industry, while providing value and services to members.
Benefits of SIGMA Membership
The benefits of SIGMA membership include government affairs representation before Congress and the Administration, publications, up to the minute information on events affecting your business, and legal advice. The association holds conferences throughout the year to allow members and partners to network and participate in education sessions on timely topics of interest. SIGMA’s leadership is provided by volunteers from SIGMA’s member companies, giving the association the advantage of advice from the most well-respected entrepreneurs in the nation.
Distinguished Marketer Award
SIGMA periodically recognizes individuals within the independent sector of the petroleum marketing industry who have contributed to the overall betterment of the petroleum industry. Originally named the “Private Brander Award,” it was later re-named the “Distinguished Marketer Award.”
Distinguished Statesman Award
The Board is also authorized to present a similar award, the “Distinguished Statesman Award,” to an individual who is not a member of SIGMA whose deeds and efforts have made a significant contribution to the welfare of the retail fuel marketing industry.
