MARCH 4 FREE RFS2 WEBINAR

Join Tim Columbus and Lizzy Glidden from Steptoe and Johnson for an exclusive SIGMA member webinar on the new RFS 2 rules on March 4 at 2:00 p.m. EST. On February 3, 2010, EPA issued a final rule to implement the renewable fuels standard mandated by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. The new program known as RFS2, mandates 36 billion gallons of renewable fuels by 2022, with distinct obligations for advanced biofuels, biomass based diesel, and cellulosic biofuels. SIGMA Counsel will go over all of the issues covered in the memorandum that was distributed last week. The memo provides an overview of the changes to the previous renewable fuel standard and outlines the new requirements issued under the final RFS2. You are encouraged to review the memo prior to the webinar. It can also be found on www.sigma.org. THE WEBINAR IS FREE FOR SIGMA MEMBERS AND WILL BE HELD MARCH 4 AT 2:00 P.M. EST.

Annual Meeting New Tour Scheduled: Chicago Board of Trade

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to tour the Chicago Board of Trade. A representative from FCstone will accompany and narrate the tour as participants watch the flurry of trading activity that occurs at the close of trading at 1:15. Following the market close, participants will watch a short movie on the CBOT’s history which explains how the exchange operates and who uses it. Participants will then go to the trading floor and participate in a 20 minute “mock” trading session as the pit broker. Stuart R. Clark, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, McLane Grocery Distribution will join an already robust education panel put together by CSP Information Group for SIGMA’s Annual Meeting. Clark joined McLane Company in 1989 after working seven years with Brenham Wholesale Grocery Company. During his nineteen years with McLane Company, he has worked in the purchasing, merchandising, sales, marketing and distribution areas. He has held several leadership positions including Vice President, McLane/Southwest, Senior Vice President, McLane/Cumberland; President, McLane/High Plains, McLane/Western, McLane/Midwest, Vice President, Convenience Sales, Grocery Distribution and most recently an executive leadership position as SR. Vice President of Sales & Marketing. This panel discussion, “Where’s Your Business Going?” will be led by CSP Information Group. Fuel volatility, retail channel blur, commodity spikes, deep recession, Big Oil retail divestiture, the Internet. SIGMA’s 2009 Annual Meeting to be held November 13-15 at the Fairmont Hotel, in Chicago, IL, is shaping up to be a winner! A variety of education programs are being planned including an all-day education program facilitated by Federated Insurance. The program will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. “Controlling Insurance Costs – Do You Really Know What You Need to Know?”, will cover employment practices, fleet safety and other risk management specifics to help make informed decisions about avoiding costly pitfalls.
