SIGMA’s 2009 Annual Meeting to be held November 13-15 at the Fairmont Hotel, in Chicago, IL. An all-day education program facilitated by Federated Insurance will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. “Controlling Insurance Costs – Do You Really Know What You Need to Know?”, will cover employment practices, fleet safety and other risk management specifics to help make informed decisions about avoiding costly pitfalls. FTC Market Manipulation Rulemaking Memo
The Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) enacted in December, 2007, required the Federal Trade Commission to promulgate rules and regulations governing “market manipulation” in the “wholesale” sale of petroleum products. Steptoe and Johnson has prepared a memorandum that details the legislative and regulatory background on EISA’s mandate, SIGMA’s involvement, and the final rule, which was published in the Federal Register on August 12, 2009.
